A police investigation has been launched ahead of tonight’s Bledisloe Cup series opener between Australia and New Zealand.
New Zealand Rugby Union chief Steve Tew has confirmed a hidden listening device was found in the Sydney hotel room set aside for team meetings.
The bug was discovered on Monday during a routine security check, a day after All Blacks coach Steve Hansen reportedly outlined the game plan and his expectations.

The Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay is working to get to the bottom of the matter, which was revealed to the public on Saturday morning, just hours before the rival rugby teams clash at ANZ Stadium.
The Australian Rugby Union is not commenting.
