Thomas made his first team debut for the Bradford Bulls in the Super League against the London Harlequins in round eight, 2011, and has gone on to play five Test matches for England since 2013.

Thomas was today named in England’s squad to play France this weekend.

Rabbitohs Head Coach Michael Maguire is very pleased to see the Burgess twins re-sign with the Club.

“George and Thomas are two of the pillars of our forward pack and we are very happy to have them extend their time with the Club to cover at least the next three seasons,” Coach Maguire said on the club’s website.

“They are both great athletes and have made a real impact on our forward pack over the past few years.

“They are both leaders-in-the-making and we’re happy to have the boys in red and green.”

George says it was an easy decision for him to stick with the Rabbitohs.

“This Club is my home now and I’m happy to have my future sorted,” George said.

“We’re building something great at this Club and with commitment and dedication we can achieve our goals.”

Thomas says he considers the whole squad as brothers now.

“Much has been made about the Burgess brothers at Souths, but we’re all brothers here at the Club,” Thomas said.

“We’ve had varying levels of success over the past few years and if we all stick together and put the work in then we will get the results we’re after for our Club and our Members.

“We love running out in the red and green to all of our wonderful Members, and I can’t wait to get stuck back into it in the new year.”
