CEO Damien Driscoll is in Sydney and spoke to MY GC before the big game.
He said around 200 Burleigh fans had made the trip south to cheer on their heroes, while he also ran into some locals at the airport who made their own way down.
Mr Driscoll said the team has had a massive week after beating the Dolphins.
“It’s an opportunity for the club and individuals to show their case to a national audience and I know all the players are excited to play today”.
Mr Driscoll admitted team officials did not expect the Burleigh side to make it this far in the competition “we finished ninth last year so certainly every year you go in with the expectation wanting to make the finals”.
“But still to make a Grand Final is one thing and then to win it’s still pretty hard so it’s still a bit surreal that we won the competition last week and now we’re playing on the big stage.
Mr Driscoll is predicting the Burleigh Bears will win by 8 points.
