Burleigh Heads JRLFC are beaming with pride after a securing a $2000 donation thanks to the Sunshine Automotive Community Fund.
The local sporting club beat out 34 other community groups in the running for the cash, receiving the highest number of votes in the September round on the myGC.com.au website.
Yesterday some members of the club were on hand to receive the giant cheque at Sunshine Kia.

Burleigh Heads JRLFC Secretary Debbie Vanderstok told myGC the club was thrilled to score the cash. “We are very excited. The money will be going towards a new set of jerseys and to assist our Development Squad with their Brisbane trip this week,” she said.
Burleigh Heads JRLFC is the largest & oldest Junior Rugby League Club in the Gold Coast District JRL competition, with over 620 kids from U6 to U17 year age groups.
Ms Vanderstok told myGC the the club will next be celebrating their 50th Year Anniversary. “It’s a big year next year. We will be hosting a number of events to highlight the year and that’s when the new jerseys will be coming out.
“While we are one of the largest Junior Rugby League Club’s we are definitely not one of the richest. So initiatives like the Sunshine Automotive Community Fund really helps us out. Thank you!”
