Burleigh man charged following attempted robbery of Southport pharmacy

A MAN has been charged following the attempted robbery of a pharmacy in Southport overnight.

Police said that around 8.20pm, the man entered a pharmacy on Marine Parade, claiming to have a firearm.

It’s alleged he made threats to use the gun and started filling a bag with medication.

Two men who were in the store restrained the man until police arrived and took him into custody.

A 47-year-old Burleigh Waters man has been charged with one count of armed robbery. He is due to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on December 11.
