Bus carrying school children crashes into tree and parked cars in Sydney
Police are investigating after a bus carrying school children crashed into a tree and parked cars in Cronulla this afternoon.
About 1.45pm emergency services were called to the intersection of Gerrale Street and Laycock Avenue, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a bus, driven by 76-year-old man, left the roadway at the intersection and crashed into a tree, before crashing into a number of parked cars.
The bus was carrying a number of school-age children at the time. Two children were treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics for minor injuries.
The driver of the bus was breath-tested at the scene and returned a negative reading.
Traffic is currently blocked on Gerrale Street between Kingsway and Laycock Avenue as investigations take place.
Inquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.
