Bus driver charged after frightening near miss with truck on Sydney’s M5

A bus driver has been charged following a terrifying near miss between a bus carrying school children and a truck on Sydney’s M5 last week.

About 7.50am on Thursday 1 June, a bus carrying 20 school children, allegedly pulled out in front of a semi trailer on the M5 causing the driver of the truck to brake heavily and jack-knife in order to avoid a collision.

Officers spoke with the bus driver, a 59-year-old man, and commenced investigations.

On Thursday, police issued the man with a court attendance notice for drive manner dangerous and negligent driving.

He is due to appear in Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 19 July.
