Bus slides down embankment as driver tries turning around on dead-end street
A SURFSIDE bus has become stuck after sliding down an embankment on the side of a small Gold Coast street.
It happened on Lakeview Drive in Carrara about 2pm on Sunday.
Witnesses told myGC the driver was trying to turn around on the narrow no-through-road when the back of the bus slipped down a grassy embankment.

The driver was unharmed and able to free himself from the bus, which became stuck on the slope.
It’s understood a large tow truck will be needed to drag the Surfside bus back onto the road.
No passengers were on board at the time.
It’s not the first time that a bus has ended up stuck after trying to turn around on a narrow Gold Coast road.
A Surfside school bus became caught in a similar situation on a straight road in Maudsland only five days ago.
