Bushwalker, 75, rescued from Blue Mountains
AN ELDERLY bushwalker has been stretchered to safety by rescuers after falling from a Blue Mountains lookout yesterday afternoon.
The 75-year-old man slipped and fell off a track while walking near Govetts Leap Lookout about 4.10pm.
A search and rescue operation, involving police, paramedics and firefighters began and the injured man was located about 4.50pm.
He was treated by specialist rescue paramedics for a head injury before being stretchered out by the rescue team.
The group reached the lookout just after 8pm and the 75-year-old man was taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition.
