SURFERS Paradise beach has been evacuated after a suspected shark sighting.
Swimmers and boardriders were told to come in just after 11am following reports of a shark in the area.
Lifeguards have removed the flags at the popular tourist spot as a precaution.

They will continue to survey the area before beachgoers will be allowed back in the water.
#SurfersParadise 1/2 At 10.45am there was confirmed sighting of a shark attacking a pool of bait fish. Lifesavers immediately evacuated the water and sent IRBs and waverunners out to search for the shark.
