Busy night for Gold Coast paramedics following spate of crashes

Paramedics have been kept busy on the Gold Coast overnight, with crews called to several car crashes across the city which saw five people hospitalised.

The first accident happened around 8.00pm on Saturday, when three vehicles collided on Nerang Broadbeach Road in Nerang.

One person was treated at the scene before being taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

About four hours later, crews were called to a three-car prang in Southport.

The accident happened at the intersection of Ada Bell Way and the Gold Coast Highway around 11:40pm.

One woman was taken to the Uni Hospital in a stable condition, while all other motorists declined transport.

Just after 1.00am this morning, two cars also collided at the intersection of Dreamworld Parkway and Hope Island Road in Helensvale.

A woman in her 50s suffered a head injury, while a man in his 50s and woman in her 30s sustained minor injuries.

The trio were all taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in stable conditions.
