Byron worker threatened with machete in terrifying armed robbery

A Byron Bay club worker has been threatened by three masked men armed with a machete in a frightening armed robbery.

The terrifying incident happened around 8.00pm on Tuesday, when the trio stormed a licensed club on Marvel Street and approached a 25-year-old woman who was working behind the bar.

Police said one of the men threatened the woman with a machete and demanded cash before taking off with a sum of money.

The men, who had their faces covered, remain at large with detectives appealing for help to track them down.

The first man is described as being between 190cm to 195cm tall, of athletic build and wearing dark clothing.

The second man is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander in appearance, between 175cm to 180cm tall and armed with a machete.

While the third man is described as being between 175cm and 180cm tall and wearing dark clothing.

Anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the nearby vicinity or who may have CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
