Bystanders pull crash victim from flipped car

BYSTANDERS have pulled a woman from her wrecked 4WD after it flipped on the Gold Coast this afternoon.

The two-vehicle crash happened on Rio Vista Boulevard, just past Markeri Street, shortly before 4pm.

First reports indicate that what appears to be a black Nissan Navara slammed into the side of the woman’s white 4WD, causing it to roll onto its side.

Passersby managed to free the woman, believed to be aged in her mid 30s, before emergency services arrived.

An ambulance spokesperson said she was being assessed by paramedics on scene.

The driver of the black vehicle was uninjured.

Fire, police and ambulance personnel are on scene, including the towies.
