Cafes, pubs and clubs can open to more than 20 people from today

Queensland businesses can now welcome back more patrons, as coronavirus restrictions continue to ease.

From today, up to 20 people will be allowed back in different sections of pubs, clubs, restaurants and cafes provided there are COVIDSafe plans in place.

20 people were allowed back in businesses from Monday this week, but the Premier says that from noon today, it could potentially be more.

“From noon on Friday, June 5, venues with more space will be allowed up to 20 people in each defined area if they follow an approved COVID Safe Industry Plan,” Ms Palaczczuk said last weekend.

It could mean that larger venues can get back to normal, while there are concerns smaller businesses are still limited.

Similar measures were announced for gyms and fitness centres yesterday as well.
