CALLOUS thieves have run over a man with his own car during a brazen burglary in Sydney’s south.
Police say the man was woken up by the sounds of intruders rummaging through the garage of his Peakhurst home at around 5.30am on Saturday and, as he went to investigate, spotted a person in the driver’s seat of his white Land Rover.
He reportedly tried to stop the vehicle, but it sped from the garage, running over his foot.

At this time, the man noticed that a second vehicle had also been stolen from his property. This vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux, had been parked outside the house.
The occupant was taken by ambulance to St George Hospital, where he was treated for soft-tissue injuries to his ankle and knee.
Police are investigating the incident and would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
He is described only as being of Caucasian appearance, aged 30 to 35, 175 to 180cm tall, with dark hair, and wearing glasses.
Police are also keen to hear from anyone with information about the whereabouts of the stolen vehicles.
The Land Rover has NSW registration number NBR 43W, while the Hilux has NSW registration number BS 67 FR.
