Gold Coast Open House organisers are on the hunt for volunteers to help ‘unlock the city’ at this year’s event.
More than 120 volunteers are needed to help run the annual event, which will see 40 buildings, places and spaces will unlock doors and open areas usually closed to the public on Saturday 4 November 2017.
Participating as a volunteer at Gold Coast Open House provides the opportunity to show pride in Gold Coast City, its architecture and design, and gain valuable insight and experience working at a major Gold Coast event.

Volunteers will receive a full briefing prior to Gold Coast Open House and will be required to participate in a four-hour shift on the day. Volunteers will be invited to attend a post-event thank you party on the early evening of Saturday 4 November.
Gold Coast Open House is also seeking expressions of interest from volunteer photographers to assist with building a strong portfolio of imagery for future promotion of the event.
Photographs taken by registered volunteer photographers can also be entered into the Gold Coast Open House Focus on Architecture photography competition, as well as submitted to the Gold Coast Open House committee for consideration for inclusion in their image library.
Volunteering at Gold Coast Open House will be of particular interest to people studying architecture, design, event management, local government and photography. Volunteering will also appeal to Gold Coasters with a passion for their City and its special buildings, places, people and heritage.
