Cannabis, cocaine, red-tailed black cockatoo seized in Gold Coast raid

A MAN will face court today, charged with trafficking, possessing and supplying cannabis and cocaine on the Gold Coast.

The 21-year-old was arrested during a raid on a house on Belconnen Drive at Pimpama on Friday morning.

Officers from the city’s Rapid Action Patrol squad stormed the home and allegedly found two kilograms of cannabis, five grams of cocaine, a stash of cash and drug utensils.

A rare red-tailed black cockatoo was also seized from the home.

The 21-year-old man was arrested and charged with one count of drug trafficking, and two counts each of possessing and supplying dangerous drugs.

He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 46-year-old Pimpama woman was also detained at the home and issued with a Notice To Appear for possessing a dangerous drug and utensil and possessing a protected species.

She is due to front Southport Magistrates court on July 6.
