Cannabis crop found growing in nursery at Victoria prison
CORRECTIONS staff are investigating how a group of inmates managed to sprout a cannabis crop inside a privately run prison in Victoria.
Twenty-eight cannabis plants were found growing in a nursery used to produce plants and vegetables at the Sale’s Fulham Correctional Centre which is operated by the GEO Group.
It’s understood four plants were found concealed in the nursery on Tuesday before drug-detection dogs sniffed out a further 24 plants during a search of the facility on the following day.
Charges are expected to be laid once the investigation wraps up.
