Canungra supporting drought-stricken farmers

A GOOD old fashioned family fun day plans to raise some much needed funds for our fellow Queenslanders, suffering from the current drought.

The gorgeous Hinterland village of Canungra will host this Saturday’s event, which will include craft and produce stalls, along with pony rides and kids giveaways.

At the moment, around 75 per cent of Queensland (36 government areas) is drought declared, meaning hundreds of families are struggling to make ends meet.

The local Country Women’s Association is behind the Canungra fundraiser and hope it will be as successful as their March cent auction which raised $1275 for drought stricken farmers.

So, this Saturday jump in the car and take a short road trip to Canungra, pulling up at the Bowls Club on Christie Street, to do your bit for our farmers.
