Two men have been charged after allegedly assaulting protesters in Surfers Paradise yesterday.
Around 50 members of the Kurdish community were participating in a planned protest along the Esplanade around 4.40pm, when they were approached by one of the men.
He allegedly assaulted one of the protesters.

Police facilitating the demonstration were able to arrest the man ‘without incident’.
Though a short time later, another man approached the group and a physical altercation broke out.
Police say that multiple people had to be capsicum sprayed, before another man was arrested.
The planned protest was allowed to continue, with police facilitating the demonstration.
A 27-year-old man from New South Wales and a 39-year-old man from Teneriffe were charged with public nuisance.
