Car collides with pedestrians in Melbourne
UPDATE at 4:45 PM | TWO adults and two children have been injured after being hit by a car in Melbourne’s CBD.
It happened on the corner of William and La Trobe streets around 4pm.
In a statement, Victoria Police said two cars collided at the intersection, with the impact sending one of the vehicles hurtling into a group of pedestrians.
It’s understood an Uber was attempting to complete a hook turn at the intersection when a second vehicle drove through a yellow light and smashed into it.
The Uber then spun out and hit four people – two adults and two children.
Victoria Police said one adult has serious but non-life-threatening injuries, while the second adult and two children have minor injuries.
Their ages are not known.
While the cause of the accident is yet to be determined, Victoria Police have confirmed it is being treated as accidental.
No further information was available at the time of writing.

It remains unclear just how many people have been hit, however early reports suggest at least four people have been taken to hospital.
The conditions, ages and genders of those injured are not known.
Video uploaded to social media shows multiple ambulances at the scene.
Witnesses have reported seeing paramedics treating a child on the ground.
It is not yet clear whether the incident was an accident, or a deliberate act.
