Car crash knocks out power to Gold Coast homes

A number of residents on the southern Gold Coast have lost power this morning, after a car crash.

There are reports a car crashed into a tree along Petsch Creek Road just after 6.00am, which caused the tree to fall and knock down powerlines.

Emergency services were called to the scene, but luckily, no injuries have been reported from the crash.

Around 75 homes are now without power in the area, with homes along Dermott Place, Goolabah Drive, Koombahla Drive, Trees Road and Tyalla Court affected. 

Energex is working to repair the outage.

Meantime, there doesn’t appear to be any traffic delays in the area.
