Car erupts into flames in Gold Coast unit complex garage

A car has burst into flames in the underground garage of a unit complex at Palm Beach.

The blaze erupted at a complex on the Gold Coast Highway around 9.00am on Saturday, with several fire crews rushing to the scene.

It didn’t take firies too long to bring the flames under control, with the car fire out by around 9.30am.


The left lane of the Gold Coast Highway between Twenty First Avenue and Nineteenth Avenue was initially blocked as crews responded to the blaze, however it has since reopened.

Queensland Ambulance Paramedics were also tasked to the scene, however, thankfully no one was injured.

A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesperson also confirmed no other cars or property were damaged.

It’s not yet known what sparked the fire.
