Mother and child hurt in two car crash

UPDATE: A MOTHER and child have been taken to hospital after a freak two car crash at Ashmore.

The woman’s car was flipped onto its roof after it was T-boned outside Ashmore City Shopping Centre just after 3pm.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman told myGC the woman received a cut to her face and was suffering from shock.


Both her and her child of unknown age have been transported stable to Gold Coast University Hospital for assessment.

Emergency services are working to clear the wreckage, which is causing some delays on Currumburra Rd.

EARLIER: EMERGENCY services are on scene of a two car crash at Ashmore where a vehicle has been flipped on its roof.

The accident happened on Currumburra Rd, Ashmore – opposite Ashmore City Shopping Centre – just after 3pm Wednesday.

Early reports suggest the flipped vehicle was T-boned before rolling onto its roof, coming to a rest in the middle of the road.

Motorists are advised to proceed through the area with caution with delays expected south on Currumburra Rd. 

Police, ambulance and fire personnel are in attendance.
