BYSTANDERS narrowly avoided injury yesterday when a car crash landed on a busy Surfers Paradise footpath.
Witnesses said a Ford Territory travelling along Orchid Avenue veered off the road and mounted the curb around 2.45pm.

It crashed into a bunch of trees and a concrete bollard before stopping short of a taking out a light pole.
The accident occurred on a bustling public holiday and just metres from the Surfers Paradise Police Station.
It remains unclear why the driver lost control of the vehicle.
Thankfully, no one was injured.
