Car stolen from Gold Coast home found engulfed in flames

A car stolen from a home on the Gold Coast over the weekend has been found engulfed in flames near a local construction site overnight.

Emergency crews rushed to Heslop Road at Gaven around 9.00pm, following reports of an abandoned car on fire.

Fire crews managed to extinguish the flames, with no injuries reported.

Police have confirmed they are investigating the blaze, following revelations the vehicle was stolen.

A police spokesperson told myGC the car, a white VW Polo, was nabbed from a home on Sickle Avenue in Hope Island sometime between 10pm on Sautrday and 9.30am on Sunday.
