Car stolen in Southport armed robbery

A BUSINESS in Southport has been the victim of an armed robbery on Thursday night.

According to police, two employees left the business on Ferry Road around 9:40pm and were confronted by two men armed with hammers as they walked towards their cars.

The theives demanded they hand over their bags.


The men then demanded car keys before taking the bags and driving away in the male employee’s car.

Both men are described as Caucasian, approximately 25-years-old, of a slight build, wearing dark coloured hooded jumpers and had with their faces covered.

Investigations are continuing.
