Carjacker threatens man with knife before stealing his Mercedes

Police are appealing for information after a man was threatened with a knife during a broad daylight carjacking at Homebush.

About 1.45pm Thursday 10 September 2015, a 44-year-old man returned to his vehicle, which was parked on Burlington Road, after having lunch with friends.

Once he got in to start the car, the driver’s door was opened and the 44-year-old was threatened by a man with a knife who demanded he get out of the car.


He complied and the man made off in his vehicle, a black 2014 model Mercedes Benz AMG sedan.

The 44-year-old was not injured in the incident.

Officers from Flemington Local Area Command were notified and attended a short time later.

They would like to speak with a man described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, unshaven, wearing a dark coloured jacket, black cap and dark blue jeans.
