Carrara Stadium rains gold for Aussie athletes

Team Australia has taken its strong form in the pool to the track, claiming multiple Gold Medals at Carrara Stadium

On day seven of the Commonwealth Games the Aussies took home seven Gold Medals, with dominant performances in track and field, shooting and diving.

New South Welshman, Brandon Starc, took the Gold Medal for the Men’s High Jump at Carrara Stadium and said the fans were vital in getting him over the bar.

“The whole stadium, I cannot thank them enough. They’re incredible,” the 24-year-old said.

On the other side of the stadium, Isis Holt cemented her status as one of Australia’s best young sprinters winning the T38 100 metre sprint.

The 16-year-old left the competition for dead, all the while wearing her trademark fluoro yellow socks, as she dashed through 100 metres in 13.58 seconds.

In other events, Aussie divers Esther Qin and Georgia Sheehan won the gold medal in the women’s synchronised 3m springboard.

At the shooting range, Daniel Repacholi took out the top spot in the Men’s 50m Air Pistol event.
