TRAFFIC is slowly returning to normal along the Pacific Motorway following two separate vehicle fires this morning.
Motorists were first brought to a halt at Helensvale at around 9am after a vehicle travelling south crashed and burst into flames.
Firefighters were quick to respond and contain the blaze before it spread through surrounding vegetation.

The incident caused major delays which have since eased considerably through the area.
Then, about 11.30am a van caught fire in the southbound lanes of the motorway just to the north of the Coast, near Logan’s Hypadome shopping centre.
The fire has been extinguished, however southbound traffic remains at a standstill, with the motorway looking more like a car park from Sunnybank down to the Hyperdome.
Motorists have been advised to steer clear of the area if possible.
