THE GOLDEN GLOBES have wrapped up at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles, with our very own Cate Blanchett crowned best actress.
The Australian actress was awarded the Golden Globe for her performance in Woody Allen’s comedy-drama Blue Jasmine.
Despite being up against four greats of the industry, including Sandra Bullock, Judi Dench, Kate Winslet and Emma Thompson, Blanchett was tipped to take out the big one.

The Globe is her third of her career after Elizabeth in 1999 and I’m Not There in 2008.
Blanchett is now tipped as the favourite for the Oscar, with nominations to be announced on Thursday. The winners will be revealed on March 2.
