Man dies after being crushed by car in NSW

A man has tragically died after being crushed by a vehicle in the NSW Lake Macquarie region.

It’s understood the man, believed to be aged 22, was working underneath the vehicle when it collapsed on top of him in the small town of Wyee on Saturday afternoon.

Police are investigating.

Teen boys launch vicious attack on off-duty cop



TWO teenagers have been charged with launching a vicious attack on an off-duty police officer in NSW overnight.

Police say the 30-year-old Senior Constable was driving along Weber Crescent in Towradgi, near Wollongong when around 11pm he noticed two teenage boys ripping out plants on a nature strip.

The off-duty officer went to speak to the boys, when it’s alleged they became verbally aggressive towards him.

The man started to walk to his home nearby but was followed by the pair who allegedly viciously assaulted him before he could get inside.

The man’s partner raced to his assistance, and the teens fled the scene.

Paramedics assisted the off-duty officer, before he was taken to Wollongong Hospital, suffering suspected facial fractures, and cuts and bruises to his head and body.

The teens were arrested nearby and taken to Wollongong Police Station, where they were charged with assault police occasioning grievous bodily harm.

They were given bail to appear at a children’s court on 4 December 2015.

Man charged over brutal baby bashing in NSW



A defenceless two-month-old baby girl has suffered horrendous injuries after she was allegedly brutally bashed by a heartless man in Sydney’s south-west.

Police were alerted after the baby girl was admitted to Liverpool Hospital at around 11am on Friday.

She was unconscious and suffering multiple serious injuries to her head and body.

She remains in a serious condition.

Officers attended the hospital where they arrested a 30-year-old man for questioning.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he has since been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

He is due to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

355 marijuana plants found in twin-home setup

Police have seized more than one million dollars worth of marijuana after finding 355 plants growing inside two neighbouring homes in Sydney’s inner-west.

Heavily armed officers raided the two unoccupied Bland Street properties at Ashfield shortly before 10am on Friday finding both premises had undergone extensive modifications in order to cultivate cannabis inside.

In one of the homes, officers located 173 cannabis plants, while in the second home, they found 182.

Police say the combined estimated potential street value of the 355 plants is $1,046,000.

No one was at either home at the time of the raids and police investigations are continuing under Strike Force Zambesi.

NSW cop charged with low-range drink driving

A NSW police officer has been charged with drink driving after testing positive to an RBT in Wollongong.

Highway Patrol officers were conducting a random breath testing operation on Five Islands Road at Cringila around 1.50am on Saturday when the driver of a white ute tested positive for alcohol.

The driver, a 24-year-old off-duty constable, was arrested and taken to Kembla Police Station where a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.063.

He was charged with low-range drink driving and is due to front Port Kembla Local Court on 6 January 2016.
