A TEENAGER has died after the car he was driving crashed into a tree in South Australia’s mid north.

Police say the 19-year-old male died when his car collided with a tree along the Barrier Highway at Hanson, south of Burra, at around 11am on Sunday.

He was the sole occupant of the car.

The Barrier Highway was still closed between the township of Hanson and Acacia Road, two kilometres north of the town, late this afternoon.

The man’s death takes the State’s road toll to 91 compared with 83 at the same time last year.

A man has died following a single-vehicle crash at Currarong, near Nowra on Saturday afternoon.

Police say a vehicle travelling along Windy Gully Track, near the intersection of Nowra Road, lost control of his car and crashed into a bunch of shrubs on the roadside around 3.30pm.

Witnesses attempted to assist the 54-year-old male driver before paramedics arrived, but sadly he died at the scene.

While a Post Mortem examination is yet to be conducted, initial inquiries have led police to believe the man may have suffered a medical episode prior to losing control of his vehicle.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a drive-by shooting in Redland Bay in Brisbane’s south-east to come forward.

A gunman opened fire on an unoccupied car parked on Pitt Street at around 8pm on Saturday night.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured during the incident, despite there being children nearby.

Forensic teams have spent the day combing the area for ballistic clues.

Police are seeking public assistance to help identify a man who died after falling from the Kangaroo Point Cliffs in Brisbane on Sunday afternoon.

The man, believed to be in his late 30s to early 40s, reportedly slipped before plunging down the cliff face at around 2pm AEST.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fall are trying to identify the man who was found with no identification.

He has been described as having short brown hair and a dragon tattoo on his right shoulder.

He was wearing black shorts at the time of the fall.

A pair of sneakers and a Cold Chisel t-shirt found by police at the scene are believed to belong to the man.

Toddler critically injured in car park accident

A two-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after accidentally being run over while riding a bike through a car park in Victoria.

Police say the toddler was struck in the car park of the Tony Clarke Recreation Reserve in Macedon shortly before 11am.

He’s been rushed to Melbourne’s Royal Children’s Hospital with critical facial, head, abdominal and leg injuries.

It’s believed he was wearing a helmet at the time he was struck.

Police are investigating and speaking with the 47-year-old female driver of the car.
