“Spread the Merry this Christmas” – that’s the message from Australia Post’s adorable new Christmas ad that is warming hearts around the country.

The video, which is encouraging Australians to be more thoughtful this festive season, features a young boy named Alfie who tries to get his elderly and lonely neighbour to take part in the holiday celebrations.

Despite constantly refusing the youngsters kind gestures, Alfie doesn’t give up on his mission to spread the Merry… Does he succeed? You’ll just have to watch the video below to find out!

Australia Post’s CMO Amber Collins says all it takes is a small act of kindness to make a difference.

“This year we are encouraging all Australians to Spread the Merry by making somebody’s day special,” Ms Collins said.

“Christmas is a time to connect with friends, family and community and the campaign demonstrates how Australia Post makes it easy to reach out to more people.”

Australia Post Executive General Manager Nicole Sheffield encouraged Aussies to add “just one more person to their Christmas list”

“It really is about joy and I think if we could just add one more person to our Christmas list, this will be our best Christmas yet,” Ms Sheffield told Today Extra.

“It doesn’t have to be anything big, just a card, something small, just that personal touch, and remembering someone will mean a lot.”

Australia Post delivered more than 40 million parcels in December last year, with even more deliveries expected to be made this festive season.

Woman gets the ultimate pay-back in a McDonald’s drive-thru

Here’s your viral fix for the day ladies and gentlemen (slow news day, sorry)… this one’s funny though.

Heather Gipson from the US has gone viral on Facebook this week, after she recounted a hilarious Micky D’s (Maccas) drive-thru experience.

While taking her time to order (because we DO NOT want to get the Maccas order wrong) the person driving the car behind her became increasingly impatient.

“The lady behind me honked at me and flipped me off because I was taking to long to order….” her Facebook post reads.

What happens next, might shock you: Heather paid for her food! Even though the lady was flipping her off!

So we’re thinking ‘how sweet!’ right? Heather you lovely soul!

“I moved up and she leaned out the window looking all crazy at me because the teller told her I paid for her food. She felt embarrassed,” Heather’s post continues…

But in the ultimate get-back, Heather was determined to teach this lady a manners lesson, so when she gets to the food window, with an embarrassed lady looking at her in her rear-view mirror from the car behind, she shows the attendant both food receipts… and takes both orders!!!

“I paid for it, it’s mine! Now she has to wait even longer. ?

“So I Honked my horn and screamed back, “Patience is a virtue”?

“She gonna learn today! ? – Heather’s post finished.

Short and simple guys, play nice in the Maccas drive through.

Bloody costume terrifies paramedics after car accident

A woman has given first responders a terrible fright after she accidentally crashed her car while dressed up as Carrie from the popular Stephen King novel.

Sidney Wolfe was on her way home from promoting a musical at a local haunted house when she got into a car accident.

The young woman was covered in fake blood as part of her costume, prompting first responders on the scene of the accident to think she had been seriously injured.

Ms Wolfe took to Twitter on October 28 to share the story, which has since gone viral with more than 286,000 likes and thousands of comments.

“If anyone wants to know how my weekend went I totaled my car while dressed up as Carrie and everyone who was a first responder thought I was dead HAHAHAHA IM SO SORRY,” the West Virginia college student wrote.

“I was promoting Carrie the Musical at a haunted house. At the end of the night, I was too tired to shower and remove my makeup so when I wrecked the first responders saw my blood and freaked.”

She added that the accident was caused by a deer which ran out in front of her car.

“Waiting for my parents to come pick me up from the scene, two more policemen showed up. By this time, I was out of the vehicle and making conversation with the people. The new officer says, “I hate to interrupt but don’t you guys think she needs medical assistance.”

Thankfully, the young woman escaped uninjured.

“I risked my life to promote this musical. Y’all better buy tickets!!!!!” she joked.

PINK OR GREY? Latest optical illusion sends internet into a frenzy

I’m really sorry guys, but… it’s BACK.

The optical illusion that sent the internet into a spin two years ago has resurfaced thanks to a number of celebrities and it’s going just as viral this time as it did in 2017.

The photo in question is a simple vans sneaker… Some say the sneaker is aqua blue and grey, while others say it’s pink and white!

“I saw this image online and I showed it to a bunch of people and it’s really, really spectacular, what comes back,” Actor Will Smith said in a video posted to his Instagram followers this week.

“What color do you see? Now show whoever is around you and ask them what color do they see and I think you’ll be surprised at what the answer is.”

“There’s no right answer but it’s definitely not pink,” he says.
