VIDEO: Tampons dance to ‘period song’ on Swedish children’s TV channel

Disturbing or informative?

A children’s channel in Sweden has released a video titled The Period Song, which features tampons dressed up as pirates and kings.

In the footage, YouTube star Alex Hermansson strums a ukulele, while singing in Swedish, “Period, period, hip hip hooray for period!”

“The body’s working as it should. And that is really, really good – hooray!”

The tampon characters on string can be seen dancing and bouncing underneath a disco ball.

The ‘educational video’ aims to explain the subject of menstruation to children, however it has already caused outrage on social media.

EARLIER: A WOMAN is suing her young nephew after he accidentally broke her wrist at his eighth birthday party.

Jennifer Connell, 54, is reportedly seeking $127,000 from 12-year-old Sean Tarala, after the youngster jumped into her arms when she arrived at his party on March 18, 2011.

The New York woman claims she loves her nephew but believes he should be held accountable for his behaviour.

The court heard: ‘The injuries, losses and harms to the plaintiff were caused by the negligence and carelessness of the minor defendant in that a reasonable eight year old under those circumstances would know or should have known that a forceful greeting such as the one delivered by the defendant to the plaintiff could cause the harms and losses suffered by the plaintiff.’

According to local media, Sean looked confused as he sat beside his father in court.
