Catholic priest charged with multiple child sex offences

A FORMER Catholic Priest has been arrested and charged with a raft of child sex offences in NSW.

The now 64-year-old man is accused of sexually assaulting a young boy in the small town of Forbes, in the state’s Central West, between 1986 and 1987.

Following a protracted investigation, the former priest was arrested at a home in the Sydney suburb of Darlington around 6pm on Tuesday.


He was taken to Redfern Police Station where he was charged with gross indecency by male with male under 18 years, and five counts of sexual assault without consent.

The man has been released on strict conditional bail and is due to front Downing Centre Local Court on Monday, May 28.
