CCC to investigate allegations of corruption within Gold Coast City Council
THE Crime and Corruption Commission has revealed it is investigating allegations of corruption within Gold Coast City Council.
The CCC said on Friday it determined it was in the public interest to advise it has commenced investigations into “corrupt conduct” relating to decision-making by “some” city councillors.
The allegations broadly involve possible conflicts of interests relating to decisions on a range of development matters on the Gold Coast.
In a statement, the CCC said it referred “some matters” to the then Department of Local Government, Infrastructure and Planning to investigate in September last year.
“The CCC has since considered an interim report from the Department,” the statement said.
“The allegations, which raise a reasonable suspicion of corrupt conduct, will now be investigated by the CCC.
“It is important to note that all allegations should be treated as unsubstantiated until the investigation is finalised.”
At last someone is looking in to the allegations, hopefully these councilors will finally receive their karma for what they have done to Black Swan Lake
