Police are hunting a man believed to be responsible for a series of frightening attempted break and enters at an aged care centre in NSW this month.
The first incident occurred just after 11.00pm on Saturday June 10, when the man broke into a 78-year-old woman’s room at the Lang Street facility in Kurri Kurri and demanded cash.
The man brutally assaulted the elderly resident before stealing her wallet containing cash and credit cards.

Police said the woman suffered bruising to her face as a result of the attack.
Just a week later, around 11.30pm on Sunday 18 June, a resident at the same aged care centre reported a man attempting to break into her room.
Police were told the woman was woken by the sound of a chair being moved towards a railing on the back veranda.
Luckily, the man failed to gain entry to the room.
The incidents are believed to be linked with police releasing security footage of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
The man is described as having dark hair and wearing shorts with two stripes down the sides and a jumper and has been seen with a dog.
