Celebs rally around Johnny Ruffo following brain cancer news

Aussie stars and fans have rallied around former Home and Away actor Johnny Ruffo, who has revealed his brain cancer has returned.

The 32-year-old singer and actor took to social media overnight to share the devastating news with his 224,000 followers.

“After an unexpected week of seizures and excruciating headaches it is with a heavy heart that I have to let you know I now have another huge battle ahead of me as my brain cancer has returned, though I will dig deep and beat this shit disease again,” the X-Factor star wrote.

The post was accompanied by a photo of Ruffo and his long-term girlfriend Tahnee Sims.

Since sharing the heartbreaking news, Ruffo has been inundated with well wishes from thousands of people, including his fellow Home & Away co-stars Lynne McGranger and Ada Nicodemou.

“See you tomorrow my strong, sassy, politically incorrect , warrior friend” McGranger commented, while Nicodemou wrote “You are so incredibly strong and brave and you will beat this once again”.

Singer Guy Sebastian described the diagnosis as “unbelievably unfair”.

“You are such a light to us all. Your positivity and courage is seriously inspiring. Love ya,” Sebastian commented.

“We’re all here with you and cheering you on!!! Sending all our love, support and good energy brother!! You got this,” Actor Lincoln Lewis wrote.

It comes three years after Ruffo underwent urgent surgery to remove a brain tumor, which was discovered when he was hospitalised for a migraine.
