Channel Nine’s NRL Footy Show turns 21

POPULAR Channel Nine program The Footy Show will celebrate its 21st birthday tonight.

The NRL television show first premiered in Finals Week in 1994.

Parramatta superstar Jarryd Hayne will join Fatty, Slats, Erin, Beau, Brett Finch and The Big Marn on the panel for the big occasion.


As part of the special 21st birthday celebrations, TODAY SHOW co-host Karl Stefanovic will check in with the Roosters’ longest serving player, Anthony Minichiello, about what retirement at the end of his 15th season in first grade rugby league will mean to him and his family.

Beau jumps “The Ditch” and heads to Auckland for a local karva drinking ritual with Warriors legend Manu “The Beast” Vatuvei and will attempt a bungee jump.

Darryl “The Big Marn” Brohman returns with Small Talk, Erin Molan will deliver another edition of the Molan Files, and more NRL big guns line up for Player Probe, as well as sharing their favourite Footy Show moments over the past 21 years.

Beau and Eric Grothe Jr will then dress as turtles and catch up with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Will Arnett and Megan Fox.

The NRL Footy Show celebrate their 21st birthday tonight on Channel Nine from 9.40pm.
