Chaos after car flips on busy Gold Coast road

Motorists are being warned of lengthy delays following a nasty crash just off the Smith Street Motorway.

A car has rolled and flipped onto its roof on the Olsen Avenue off-ramp, heading eastbound towards the Gold Coast University Hospital.

It happened just after 7.00am on Tuesday.


A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson told myGC the driver managed to get themselves out of the car.

They’re currently being assessed at the scene by paramedics.

It’s not yet known if they have suffered any injuries.

According to the Department of Transport and Main Roads, at least one lane has been blocked with delays expected.
