Incredibly, no one is believed to have been seriously injured in the smash.
The incident has, however, thrown traffic into disarray in the area, with traffic quickly banking up in both directions.
Westbound traffic was gridlocked up for almost two kilometres at the time of writing.
A line of cars stretched from the scene of the accident, across John Muntz Bridge and onto Maudsland Road at Oxenford.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if they can.
