Charges laid after Burleigh chemist robbery

A MAN has been charged after an armed robbery at a West Burleigh chemist on Wednesday.

It’s alleged he entered the store around midday armed with a knife, threatened staff and made demands for cash.

He managed to flee the store with a number of items but was tracked down in the Stocklands Shopping Centre car park by officers a short time later.

A 28-year old man with no fixed place of abode has been charged with armed robbery and stealing.

He is due to face Southport Magistrates Court today.
