Charges laid after gang allegedly assaults and robs 18yo, Gold Coast

Two people have been arrested and charged over an alleged assault and robbery in Pacific Pines last night.

An 18-year-old was getting out of his car in a car park along Pitcairn Way around 7.00 pm when he was approached by a group.

Police allege one man in the ground was wielding a machete and confronted the 18-year-old.

The 18-year-old was then allegedly assaulted a number of times before the group ran off. He had to be hospitalised with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police were able to track down four people at the same location a short time later, it’s understood they are known to the 18-year-old.

Two of them have now been charged.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and wounding and two counts of possession of a dangerous drug.

A 17-year-old girl has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and wounding.

Investigations are continuing this morning.
