A MAN has been charged with indecently assaulting a 94-year-old woman at an aged care facility in Newcastle.
It’s alleged staff walked in on the 83-year-old man indecently assaulting the elderly woman in her room at the Charlestown facility around 9.30am on Friday, May 11.
It’s alleged he followed the staff member back out of the room and questioned her before returning to the woman’s room and disappearing.

The man had told staff an hour earlier that he was at the facility, waiting for the woman to finish her breakfast. His relationship to the woman is not known.
Officers from Lake Macqaurie Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.
The 83-year-old was charged with indecent assault on Tuesday and was released on conditional bail.
He will appear before Newcastle Local court on Thursday, August 9.
