Charges laid over police chase through Logan

A man has been charged following a series of wild incidents across Logan and South Brisbane on Sunday.

It’s understood officers were conducting random breath tests on Paradise Road in Underwood around 4pm when they noticed a vehicle sharply turn away from them before speeding off.

The vehicle was monitored by POLAIR 1 and POLAIR 2 as it allegedly drove dangerously along the Gateway Motorway and onto Old Cleveland Road.

A short time later, the vehicle allegedly travelled through a red light at the intersection of Redland Bay Road and Moreton Bay Road in Capalaba before colliding with another vehicle.

The driver of the second vehicle, a 90-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries.

The 29-year-old man was charged with two counts of fail to stop motor vehicle and one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, failing to remain at or near road incident and assist injured persons, unlicensed driving, uninsured and unregistered vehicle and drugs offences.
