A MAN has been charged with the alleged murder of a woman in Southport on Friday morning.
Police were called to a residence on Tuesley Street at around 7am, where they located the woman, who had suffered a number of stab wounds.
A 72-year-old man was also located at the residence with serious stab wounds and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Gold Coast detectives charged the man with one count of murder.
An initial hearing will be held in the Southport Magistrates Court on Saturday, although the man won’t appear.
He remains in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
