Charges laid over vicious Brisbane brawl

UPDATE 3/12/16 7:26AM | Detectives have charged a man over a vicious assault in Brisbane’s south.

A 45-year-old Upper Mount Gravatt man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on January 18, 2017.

EARLIER 2/12/16 803AM | Two men have been rushed to hospital, one with broken bones in his face, after they got into a fight in Brisbane’s south.

Police say that around 11.30pm, a 39-year-old man entered the front yard of a Curfew Street address and approached a 79-year-old man.

A short time later, a 45-year-old man arrived at the address and confronted the 39-year-old.

A fight broke out and the 39-year-old man wound up with facial fractures, the 45-year-old man has a broken hand.

Both men were taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

The 79-year-old man wasn’t hurt and is being questioned.
