Charges still yet to be laid over 20-hour Gold Coast siege

Two men have spent the night behind bars after finally surrendering to police following a 20-hour stand-off.

The pair was arrested just after 11am on Thursday morning after being holed up in a duplex on Rimu Place in Nerang.

The dramatic siege initially unfolded around 3pm on Wednesday after officers attempted to serve the two men with return to prison warrants.

The 25-year-old Tugun man and 32-year-old Labrador man eventually gave themselves up after barricading themselves inside for around 20 hours.

They were taken to the Southport Watchhouse.

Charges were still yet to be laid as of Friday morning as investigations continue.
