Chelsea fork out $45.9m for Barcelona winger Pedro

ALEX HEINKE reports.

English Premier League champions Chelsea have agreed a deal with Barcelona for the signing of Spanish international winger Pedro Rodriguez, both clubs announced on Thursday.

It seams Chelsea’s poor start to the EPL season has got them down with some retail therapy and big splash of cash looking to lift spirits at Stamford Bridge.

Pedro chose the Premier League champions over rivals Manchester United and Manchester City with the 28-year-old’s arrival ending a summer-long transfer saga.

Chelsea coach Jose Mourinho’s latest acquisition turns up in London boasting five La Liga trophies and three Champions League titles.
